ACD observers try to influence voters in Rajshahi
Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan yesterday rebuked election observers of the ACD (Association for Community Development) for their alleged try to influence voters before casting votes.
During a visit at Holidagachhi High School poling centre under Rajshahi-6 constituency yesterday the divisional commissioner found that ACD observers are discussing with the voters standing in queue.
Some voters alleged that ACD observers asked them to seal in a specific symbol.
The divisional commissioner then asked the ACD observers to sit a room and observe the election.
Bhuiyan also asked Holidagachhi High School presiding officer Abdul Hamid to monitor activities of the ACD observers in poling centre area.
Meanwhile, the ACD election observers took position at all poling booths at Maskathadighi High School under Rajshahi-3 constituency.
When contacted, Maskathadighi High School polling station presiding Officer Mujibur Rahman said the ACD observers are observing polls staying at polling booths.
Refuting the allegation ACD observer Masud said they are only observing the election nothing else.
