Young-elder fight gains momentum
Election campaign has gained momentum in Tangail-2 (Bhuapur-Gopalpur) constituency centring the fight between a young man and an elderly candidate.
Young man Sultan Salahuddin Tuku of four-party faces elderly Awami League leader Khandakar Asaduzzaman in the constituency.
BNP-led four-party alliance's Abdus Salam Pintu won the seat in 2001 election. After 1/11, Pintu was arrested in connection with the August 21 grenade attack on AL chief Sheikh Hasina's rally in the capital. He is now in jail.
Pintu's younger brother Sultan Salahuddin Tuku is the four-party candidate this time to fight grand alliance candidate Khandakar Asaduzzaman in Tangail-2.
