FA probing bottle-throwing incident
The Football Association (FA) are investigating an incident which saw a plastic bottle thrown at Sunderland's Phil Bardsley during his side's 4-1 Premier League win away to Hull last weekend.
Bardsley had been fouled in a challenge by Sam Ricketts, which saw the Hull player sent-off for a second bookable offence, when a plastic bottle appeared to be thrown from the crowd in the direction of the full-back at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
Referee Mike Riley included the incident in his report and an FA spokesman said Monday: "We are writing to Hull for their observations of the incident and what steps are being taken to identify the individual responsible."
