A wake up call

IRRESPECTIVE of religion, caste, creed, tribe or political bias this wakeup call is for every citizen of this country. There was a hair-raising news item printed on the first page of Daily Shangram on 7th December 2008. The news was about a secret meeting held on 5th December night to demolish all the liberation related sculptures in and around Dhaka University. They discussed the plan in details and final executive order was also given. A well thought out plan, perfect in timing and with attention to detail. Had there been no premature blow up of the plan, the perpetrators could have successfully created havoc in the law and order situation of the country. The action could have initiated a total political anarchy, difficult for the government to manage. The worst-case scenario is that the present political process of democracy would have been severely hindered obliging a new government designed by the domestic traitors and foreign perpetrators or Hostile Intelligence Service (HIS).
When there is such an incident it is always the men in power responsible to complete the investigation and inform the public about its origin and the ulterior motive of the executioners. We, the people of the third world Muslim countries have to accept that there is foreign involvement in our political destabilization process. We have made it easy for HIS by our deranged national character. They might have successfully placed an Agent in Place (AIP) and Agent Of Influence (AOI) in all our administrative, social or political structures. This helps them to play with our politics and economy as per their choice.
Third world countries, to be more specific Muslim countries, are under constant threat from the terrorist actions of radical Muslims. HIS has successfully created an anti-radical Islamists also. History provides evidences that people of this part of the world are peace loving and tolerant by nature. In particular, religious tolerance of Bangladeshi people is an example for the rest of the sub-continent.
A shift from tolerant to radical behaviour presents a huge task to the security organizations to find out the truth, and identify the domestic network and also the foreign links. If our professionals fail to find out the truth, then we have reasons to be sceptical about our future. Radical attack on the Twin Towers legitimised destruction of Afghanistan and Iraq; Bali bombing ensured separation of East Timor from Indonesia; Darfur genocide ensured presence of UN force in Somalia; Mumbai bombing produced unusual security threat on Pakistan; presence of Taliban radicals provide illegitimate scope to "global Rambo" to thump Pakistan. It is now the responsibility of our security practitioner to find out what the scenario would have been if the perpetrators managed to demolish the sculptures and successfully initiate a warring situation.
One of the typical characteristics of a third world country is - an investigation concerning national interest or securities never see the light of the day. Organizations responsible for the investigation may have their own explanation but this a matter of right to information of the taxpayers. When the investigating authority cannot proceed with the investigation or fail to complete the legal proceedings it implies the presence of AIP or AOI in the decision making process of the government. If a country has AIP and AOI within radical, anti-radical and also in government decision-making structure, it is only the creator who can save the sovereignty. To prove that our administration is free of influence we, the citizens, should be informed of the end result of the investigation, particularly why such an effort to create a volatile environment was made, thereby making scope for HIS to go by their planned action.
If the information provided by the daily is not right that also needs proper care as per the law of the land to avoid unnecessary public alarm. The fact is we do not want to follow the miserable fate of all other Muslim countries that is taking place one after another. We must identify the tentacles of the Muslim country serial killer within us and neutralize them before it is too late.
