SSJ’s Victory Day celebration ends
The four-day celebration by Shammilita Sangskritik Jote (SSJ) on the occasion of Victory Day ended on December 16. Programmes started simultaneously at the Central Shaheed Minar premises and Rabindra Sarobar, Dhanmondi on December 13. With the slogan "Konthey Tolo Bijoy-er Shur, Akutobhay Ekattur" the programme featured songs, theatre, dance, recitation and more.
The fourth and last day's programme kicked off with a colourful procession in the morning that circled around the Shaheed Minar, Doyel Chattar and TSC, DU. Cultural personalities Nasiruddin Yousuff, Hasan Arif, Syed Hasan Imam and Golam Kuddus, among others, spoke prior to the procession.
In the evening, cultural programmes were held at Shaheed Minar premises and Rabindra Sarobar.
At Shaheed Minar, Bhaswar Bandhopadhyay, Shimul Mustafa, Iqbal Khorshed, Mahidul Islam, Jharna Sarkar recited poems, while members of Srot, Muktadhara, Swanan and Sharasruti took part in group recitations. Artistes of Chhayanat, Dhrubotan and Drishti performed songs. Theatre and Aranyak Natyadal staged street plays.
At Rabindra Sarobar, Nimai Mandal, Fayzullah Sayeed and Shahadat Hossain Nipu recited poems. Members of Sangbrita, Dhaka Swarakalpan and Charukantha Abritti Sangsad took part in the group recitations.
Artistes of Nibedan, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Goshthi and Banshari rendered songs, while Dyash Bangla Theatre and Subachan Natya Sangsad staged street plays. Young students of Magnolia School of Art and Culture, Nirman Theatre and Shilpabritta also performed at the programme.
