'Detailed Area Plan should have long-term vision'
Although the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) needs to be prepared immediately, it should be made after detailed assessment and should have a long-term vision, Director General of Department of Environment (DoE) Khandaker Rashedul Haque said yesterday.
Addressing a view exchanging meeting on 'Shifting of Hazaribagh tannery and proposal of DAP' at Rajuk Bhaban in the city, he also said that in order to make a planned city it is not only necessary to expand the existing roads but also new roads will have to be constructed.

The meeting was organised by Rajuk as part of the process of preparing the DAP which is scheduled to be done by December 31.
A public hearing on DAP is now going on. It started on October 4 and will continue till November 5, said Project Director of DAP Tapan Kumar Nath.
