Two robbers killed during bus robbery
Two robbers were killed and five others, including bus passengers, injured on Tuesday night during a hold-up in a bus on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Bogar Bazar in Trishal.
The dead are as Rashed, 30, son of Mohammed Ali of Shathua village and Delwar Hossain 40, of Munshiganj.
Police said a gang of robbers in the guise of passenger boarded Mymensingh-bound bus Shoukhin at Mohakhali bus stand in Dhaka. When the bus reached Bogar Bazar at around 9:15pm the robbers tried to take control of the vehicle threatening the passengers with knives.
Sadek, the helper of the bus, caught one of the robbers and screamed for help. Hearing the scream, local people rushed to the spot and caught three of the robbers.
They beat up the robbers leaving two of them dead and the other Sohel, 35, injured.
Four passengers were also wounded in the incident. They received medical treatment at Mymensingh Medical Collage Hospital (MMCH) and local clinics.
On information, police rushed to the spot and arrested injured Sohel.
The bodies were sent to the MMCH morgue for autopsy.
