Lyon look for boost
French champions Lyon will be looking to overcome what for them has been a disappointing start to the season and resume their traditional place atop the French league with a win over Lens on Saturday.
Lyon coach Alain Perrin is under pressure to take the three points from the delayed third round match and move up from fourth place in the league.
Last week Lyon carved out a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Lille before a 3-0 thumping by Barcelona in the opening Champions League group tie.
However Perrin said he was not concerned about his team's form.
"We have a team which is working well and a game which is improving," Perrin said, adding that the slow start was part of the "highs and lows of a season".
"Of course, the possibility of retaking the top spot on the table is an objective".
Perrin knows the expectations don't stop there and that victory is also needed against Rangers in Tuesday's Champions League match if Lyon are to remain on track for the knockout stages.
"All matches are important when you are on top of the table and you play often", he said.
Perrin, who arrived from Sochaux to replace Gerard Houllier at the championship club, is said to have upset some of his players who are unhappy with his coaching methods.
However all three of Lyon's championship winning coaches, Jacques Santini, Paul Le Guen and Gerard Houllier have all faced internal criticism at a club where the expectations are high.
