Harmer's no to BCB
Australian academy coach John Harmer withdrew his name as a hopeful for the position of Bangladesh cricket coach.
But the 65-year-old coach, who was the only candidate from the three-member short-list who made his presentation before the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in August, had a different reason behind his decision.
"He informed us through an e-mail that Bangladesh needs a young and energetic coach for the demanding job. This is something that he felt during his stay," said Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, chairman of cricket operations committee.
"But Harmer showed his interest in a different capacity. We will consider his offer," he added.
Zimbabwean Dave Houghton had earlier pulled out his name, citing family problem, and another Australian Jamie Siddons had shown no interest to this job.
BCB are now starting the whole process afresh.
