Engineer sent to jail in Gaibandha

A former executive engineer of Gaibandha Pourasabha who was sued for cheating has been sent to jail on surrender before the sessions judge court here yesterday.
Ex-Gaibandha Pourasabha executive engineer Harun-ur-Rashid, now serving at Pabna Pourasabha borrowed Tk 2 lakh 70,000 from Sarder Sayeed Hasan, a contractor and Tk 70,000 from another one named Naheed Hasan Tusher for a personal reason sometime in 2004. But he did not return the money. The plaintiffs filed two cases against him with Gaibandha magistrate court.
A warrant of arrest was issued against the engineer. He was sent to jail on surrender before court yesterday.
