ROK envoy impressed with voter listing
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Park Suk Bum yesterday expressed his satisfaction over preparation of electoral roll with photograph and issuance of National ID cards in Mymensingh Sadar upazila.
He visited the voter registration control room at Dapunia High School and talked to election officials there.
Later talking tot newsmen, he said the process of voter ID card preparation with photograph with the help of army is going on smoothly and hoped the project will be completed successfully.
The Ambassador said he was highly impressed to see the arrangement, use of laptop computers and other steps taken by the army.
Kim Chang Sup, resident representative of Korea International Cooperation Agency; Han Jong Chol, KOICA Volunteer Programme Coordinator of Korea International Cooperation Agency; army commander Lt Co Iqbal Akter Mia, Maj Shariar, Mymensingh Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nasreen Afroj and election officials Md Akram and Rashedul Islam were also present, among others, during the visit.
The Korea envoy also talked to people who came to the centre for voter registration.
Earlier Park Suk Bum and members of his team visited Mymensingh Teachers Training College where coordinator Maj Shahriar briefed them on the programme and ongoing voter registration with National ID card.
Preparation of voter ID cards with photograph began in the Sadar upazila on September 20.
