5 killed in road accidents

Five people were killed and 32 others injured in separate road accidents in Habiganj and Panchagarh in the last two days.
UNB reports: Two people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a night coach and a truck on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Daulatpur at Bahubal in Habiganj in the early hours of yesterday.
Police said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound night coach from Sylhet collided with a good-laden truck at about 3:00am, killing two coach passengers on the spot.
The dead were identified as Abdul Khalek, 20, and Abdur Zabbar, 25.
The injured were rushed to the local health complex and Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
A correspondent in Thakurgaon adds: Three people were killed and 12 others injured in a road accident at Panchagarh on Tuesday evening.
The dead were identified as Mousumi Akhter, 22, Mozaffar Hossain, 22, and Mintu, 25.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head-on with an oil tanker on Panchagarh-Dinajpur highway at Moydandighi village at Boda upazila, leaving Mintu, the helper of the fuel tanker, dead on the spot and 10 bus passengers injured.
Locals rushed them to Boda Health Complex where Mousumi succumbed to her injuries.
Mozaffar succumbed to his injuries at Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.
Hospital sources said the condition of Md Abdur Rauf, 28, Md Mahbub Alam, 35, Md Rafiqul Islam, 39, Raju, 27, and Md Toyabur Rahman, 42, was critical.
