Three more deer in Jamuna Eco Park in Sirajganj died on Saturday due to alleged carelessness of park authorities.
With these the casualty figure rose to 15 so far, official sources said.
Seven deer were released in the park during its inauguration on March 9 this year as part of a beautification programme. Next day, seven more deer were released.
After a few days, 12 deer out of the 14 went missing. The Park authorities claimed that some of the deer died from different diseases, while others killed or driven out by foxes and dogs.
The rest two deer fell sick. They are housed in a bamboo made cage in the park, virtually without any treatment, some sources claimed.
At last, five more deer were bought from Khandakar Azizul Haque of Rajnarayanpur in Bera upazila of Pabna district on September 10 and were released in the Park.
Three of the five newly procured deer died couple days ago.
Some sources in the park authorities claimed that they died from reaction of the injection pushed for carrying them to the park.
Quoting autopsy report of the there dead deer, Range Officer Abdus Sattar said they died from 'heart attack'.
After autopsy, their bodies were buried and their skin preserved in the park, he said.
During a visit to the park yesterday, this correspondent saw that the rest two of the deer brought on September 10 were also sick and kept in the same cage along with two other sick deer. Condition of the four deer is not well, sources there said.
When contacted, Azit Kumar Rudro, Divisional Forest Officer in Pabna refuted the allegation of carelessness by park authorities in looking after the animals.
