Charge sheet against wife of chief judicial magistrate

Sylhet Kotwali police yesterday submitted a charge sheet against the wife of chief judicial magistrate here on charge of torture on their domestic help.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Khorshed Alam filed the charge sheet with the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate against Wahida Begum Shanta, wife of Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Rafiqul Alam.
Investigation officer (IO) of the case mentioned in the charge sheet that the complainant Ratna could not be ascertained as her whereabouts is yet to be known.
The housemaid filed the case on June 6 last and brought the allegations of torture against her.
Police sent the victim to Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Different human rights organisations staged protests against the incident and demanded legal steps against the accused.
Following the filing of the case, Wahida was granted bail from the court.
