A booth for collection of signatures against corruption opened at the New Market in the city yesterday.
Support Advertising Limited opened the booth as part of its countrywide anti-corruption signature collection campaign. Assurance Development Ltd sponsored the booth at the New Market.
Inaugurating the booth, eminent litterateur Selina Hossain called on all, especially the young generation, to come forward to raise awareness about corruption.
It is possible to build a corruption-free country if awareness can be raised at all levels of society, she said.
The signature collection booth was set up at the Gate No. 1 of the New Market.
Khandaker Sayed, managing director of Support Advertising Limited, Chhoton Chandra Paul, an official of Assurance Developments Limited, and Mohammad Moshtaque, general secretary of New Market Shop Owners' Association, were present at the inaugural ceremony.
