UGC appoints two new professors
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh appointed two distinguished academicians of the country as UGC professors.
The newly appointed professors are Dr Alamgir Mohammad Sirajuddin, a noted historian and former vice-chancellor of Chittagong University and Prof Dr Nuruddin Ahmad, former professor of Chemical Engineering Department and vice-chancellor of Buet, says a press release yesterday.
The approval of appointment was given at a meeting of the commission held on Monday at the UGC with its chairman Prof Nazrul Islam in the chair.
The press release further said the commission also extended the tenure of UGC professorship of Prof Dr A M Harun-ar-Rashid, Department of Physics, Dhaka University and Dr Md Azizul Haque, Department of Horticulture of Bangladesh Agriculture University, for another two years.
