DSE online trading glitch causes loss to Barisal investors

Hundreds of investors of stock market in the
city incurred a loss of crores of taka for the last eight days due to technical glitches in online trading with Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Mizanur Rahman and Md Shahnewaj Shahin, convener and joint convener of Barisal Investors' Forum, alleged that technical fault in DSE online
trading servers have been halting trading for
hours at local brokerage houses in the city since August 25.
Barisal capital market recently gained heavy rush due to direct online transaction facilities.
Barisal office of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) informed that there are more than 42,000 account holders at the branch, more than 1,600 beneficiary account holders (BO) of ICB
Securities Trading Company Limited (ISTCL) and more than 900 accounts of ICB Capital Management Limited (ICML), two subsidiary companies of
ICB enlisted with Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges.
Besides, about 800 BO account holders of two branches of private brokerage houses-- Stock Bonds Limited and M Securities Limited-- enlisted only with DSE for daily transactions from Barisal and
severely affected by this technical fault.
Acknowledging the fact, Md Ruhul Amin, manager of ICB, M Korban Ali, manager of ISTCL and Abdul Mannan, manager of ICML, Barisal branch said higher authorities have been informed about the problem and they assured of removing the technical glitches as soon as possible.
