Road crashes kill 7, injure 64

Seven people were killed and 64 others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail, Netrakona, Gaibandha and Brahmanbaria in the last two days.
Our correspondent in Tangail reports: Three people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident on Jamuna Bridge Approach Road at Kalihati upazila in Tangail yesterday.
The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Kurigram collided head-on with a goods-laden truck at Salla at around 5:00am.
Of the dead, one was identified as Tajul Islam, 30, but the identities of the two other victims could not be known immediately.
The injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital.
Our correspondent in Netrakona adds: Two people were killed and 28 others injured in separate road accident in the district yesterday.
Amirul Islam, 50, was killed and 10 others injured when a truck hit a human hauler on Netrakona-Madan highway at Keshjani under Madan upazila in the district at about 7:00am.
Shahin Mia, 15, was killed and 18 others injured on Netrakona-Durgapur highway at Rentritola under Durgapur upazila at about 9:00am when a Netrakona-bound passenger bus lost control and fell into a roadside paddy field.
Our correspondent in Gaibandha adds: A man was killed and 12 others injured in a road accident on Gaibandha-Palashbari road at Tulsighat in the district yesterday.
The accident occurred when a Sundarganj- bound night coach skidded off and fell into a roadside ditch.
The identity of the victims could not be known immediately.
The injured were rushed to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital.
Our correspondent in Brahmanbaria adds: A man was killed and four others were injured in a road accident on Sarail-Brahmanbaria highway at Jilokderpara village under Sarail upazila in the district on Wednesday night.
The victim was identified as Md Zillur Rahman, 29.
The accident occurred when a passenger-laden human hauler lost control and fell into a roadside ditch.
The injured were rushed to Sarail Upazila Health Complex. But, Zillur, who was being shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, succumbed to his injuries on the way.
