Family members blame Rab
Family members of the deceased Sentu and Rezaul yesterday alleged that they were the victims of conspiracy and the members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) had killed them in the name of 'crossfire'.
At a joint press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium, they said they would file cases with the court and carryout legal fight against the killings of Mosharraf Hossain Sentu and Rezaul Karim on the night of July 13 at Shyampur in the city.
The family members also urged the chief adviser, home secretary, inspector general of police and director general of the Rab for proper investigation into the killings.
They claimed that after the arrest of Sentu and Rezaul, the Rab members demanded Tk 2 lakh from them in exchange for their lives and freedom, but they were killed as the family members failed to meet the demand.
They said Sentu who returned home two years ago was an expatriate in Korea for five years and he was trying to go there again while Rezaul was a salesman of a shop at Jatrabari.
Sentu's wife Dilara Sultana, parents Delwar Hossain and Aleya Begum and Rezaul's father Mohammad Ali were present at the press conference.
