Arms, ammo seized in CHT

After trading fire, security personnel busted a temporary den of the anti-peace treaty activists in a remote area under Bilaichhari upazila of the district early yesterday and recovered arms and ammunition.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of security personnel from Kaptai region encircled the den at Ghilamachhara at around 1:00am.
Sensing the presence of the team, the armed activists of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) opened fire, prompting the army men to retaliate.
At one stage, the UPDF activists fled the scene, leaving behind a sub-machine gun (SMC), two light guns (LGs), nine bullets and a magazine.
