Bangladesh A lose in T20
Bangladesh A were routed by 82 runs in a Twenty20 match at a windswept and blustery Eglington on Friday.
The conditions were clearly alien the tourists who were never in the hunt after Ireland posted an 161-6 in 20 overs, as they were bowled out for just 79 in 16.1 overs.
The Bangladesh reply got off to the worst possible start, losing a wicket to the second ball, as left-handed opener Imrul Keyes was run out by a direct hit from Paul Stirling. Andrew Poynter also produced a direct hit to run out captain Zunaed Siddiqui, while another mix up saw Trent Johnston and Kyle McCallan combine to see the back of Suharwardi Shuvo.
Nayeem Islam and Dhiman Ghosh were the only batsmen to offer any sort of resistance, with both scoring 20 each.
Off-spinner Kyle McCallan finished with three wickets for just six runs, while in addition to the three run outs.
Earlier, Andre Botha entertained the crowd with a fine unbeaten 62 from just 41 balls, which included four boundaries and a couple of sixes.
Nayeem, who scored 125 against Ireland A earlier in the week, showed his all-round capabilities as he took 3-33 with some tight off-spin.
Bangladesh A face the same opposition in a 50-over game at Bangor on Sunday.
