5 RU BCL activists expelled for stabbing rivals
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Rajshahi University (RU) unit yesterday expelled its activists on charges of stabbing rivals of the same front.
Earlier on May 22, a group of BCL activists loyal to RU unit President Ibrahim Hossain Moon stabbed Maruful Islam Shuhin, a BCL activist and loyal to General Secretary Ayeen Uddin with machete, hammer and iron rod near Binodpur area.
BCL sources said the decision was taken at a meeting on Thursday night.
The expelled activists were identified as Mithu, Dalim, Faruik, Masud and Shuhin.
BCL General Secretary Ayeen Uddin told The Daily Star that the activists were expelled permanently from the organisation for their involvement in different anti-organisational activities on the campus.
They also asked all leaders and activists to not keep any organisational relation with the expelled BCL activists, say a press release yesterday.
