Woman killed by husband

Husband beat to death a woman at his house at Noupara village under Gurudaspur upazila under Natore district yesterday.
The victim, Shahina Begum, wife of Harun-or-Rashid, was taken to Bonpara Amina Hospital at 6:00am in a critical condition. She died there in a short time.
Marks of torture were seen on her body and there was insecticide in her mouth. Her father Abdus Samad of village Kumrul under Baraigram upazila, said Harun had been demanding motorcycle, refrigerator, colour TV as dowry but he could not meet the demand due to his poverty.
It is suspected that insecticide was poured into her mouth to pass off the incident of killing as suicide.
