Accounting career fair begins at DU

A three-day 'Accounting Career Fair' began on the premises of the Faculty of Business Studies at Dhaka University (DU) yesterday in a bid to make students familiar with the existing facilities in the corporate market.
A total of 20 corporate houses, including TM International (Bangladesh) Limited (Aktel), Rahimafrooz, National Bank, Unilever Bangladesh Limited, National Credit and Commerce Bank and Concord Group, joined the fair with different facilities and information of their respective companies.
Department of Accounting and Information Systems of the university organised the fair.
A number of faculty students expressed their satisfaction over the holding of the fair, saying this kind of fair offers them to get a closer look at the corporate houses which help them building career.
Earlier in the morning, DU acting Vice Chancellor Prof AFM Yusuf Haider formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, while former FBCCI president Yussuf Abdullah Harun and Business Studies Faculty Dean Prof Serajul Islam were present as the special guests.
Addressing the inaugural session, Prof Haider said the main target of such fair is to make students familiar with present facilities of the corporate houses. He expressed hope that through the fair, students will be able to get necessary information of private companies and make themselves competent in the workplace.
Yussuf Abdullah Harun said communication between business industries and educational institutes should be extended to make our students efficient and skilled manpower in the professional career.
