Yaba tablets seized, 3 held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel arrested a model girl along with two others, including a university student, from the city's Shantinagar area and seized 23 Yaba tablets and 20 bottles of phensidyl from them on Monday night.
The model girl was identified as Fahmida Mahmud Panna, 26, also a television drama actress. Other arrestees are BBA 4th year student of Stamford University Sirazul Islam alias Moon, 25, and Shafiuzzaman alias Babu, 24.
They were arrested from the ground floor of Eastern Plus at about 10:30pm on that night during a Yaba-busting drive.
Rab-3 Commander Sultan Mohammad Nurani told The Daily Star, “They were arrested for peddling Yaba tablets.”
The model girl was the wife of a former army soldier who was deputed to Rab-3 for several months. Meanwhile, he was sacked from the army.
Earlier, the sacked army soldier divorced Panna.
