SLC, BCCI to talk T20
A top Sri Lankan cricket official will attend a meeting of the Indian Cricket Board next week to discuss a new league being floated to counter a controversial rebel series.
"We have been asked to come and I will represent Sri Lanka Cricket," Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Jayantha Dharmadasa told AFP Saturday.
India's cricket chiefs will meet in New Delhi on September 13 to discuss a glitzy Twenty20 series to compete with the unofficial Indian Cricket League (ICL) to size.
Dharmadasa said the objective of the September 13 meeting to be held in New Delhi was still not known to the SLC.
"We do not know what exactly the Indians want from the talks," Dharmadasa said, adding that he would stand by the SLC policy to prevent any Sri Lankan cricketer from taking part in the rebel league.
Sri Lankan authorities have threatened players with a ban if they were to sign with the privately-promoted ICL.
