Manikganj rally vows to resist drug menace
Speakers at an anti-drug rally in Manikganj yesterday vowed to do their best to root out criminal activities and build a society free from drugs, corruption and violence.
Manikganj Municipality organised the rally at Captain Abdul Halim Chowdhury Auditorium.
In his address as chief guest, Manikganj Superintendent of Police Sheikh Muhammad Maruf Hasan urged people to give information to the law enforcers about drug traders and form social movement against the evil forces.
He expressed hope that Manikganj will be a drug-free district within a month.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Salah Uddin Chowdhury was special guest at the rally presided over by Municipality Chairman Sudev Saha.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Imam Mohammad Sadid and Narcotics Control Department Inspector Ali Hossain Khan, among others, spoke on the occasion.
