CA arrives in London

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed arrived in London yesterday on a three-day official visit after attending the 11th summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Dakar of Senegal.
Ambassador John Dennis, director of Asia and Commonwealth Office of British Government, and Shafi U Ahmed, Bangladesh high commissioner in London, received the chief adviser at the Heathrow airport.
Earlier, Fakhruddin, who led the Bangladesh delegation to the OIC Summit, left Dakar on Saturday night for London.
The chief adviser is scheduled to hold a meeting with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street in London.
Besides, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, and British Secretary of State for International Development Douglas Alexander, are also expected to call on Fakhruddin.
The chief adviser will also hold meeting with members of Bangladesh community in Britain.
He would be interviewed by a number of international and British mainstream media, including BBC, Al-Jazeera, channel-4 and The Guardian newspaper, during his stay in London.
The chief adviser is expected to leave for Dhaka on March 21.
