Book fair in Mymensingh ends
The four-day book fair held at the premises of Bhaluka Upazila Parishad concluded last Monday.
More than 20 stalls were set up at the book fair, marking the International Mother Language Day.
Mustafa Matin Smriti Parishad, an organisation named after a Language Movement veteran, arranged the fair that drew a huge number of visitors.
Professor Dr. M. Amanullah, MP, inaugurated the book fair.
A discussion was held marking the inaugural programme of the fair. Advocate Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan, president of District Lawyers Association, was the chief guest while its vice-president Advocate Mahbubul Alam Farid was the special guest at the opening.
Lauding the organisers for holding the book fair at upazila headquarters, the speakers said these events would encourage the younger people to read more.
