10 injured as rival AL factions clash

At least 10 persons were injured as two rival factions of ruling- Awami League clashed over formation a new committee yesterday in Puthia of Rajshahi.
Two of the injured -- Rahidul Islam, 30, Anik Islam, 30 -- were admitted to Puthia Health Complex, said police.
Groups of local lawmaker Abdul Wadud Dara and former Bangladesh Chhatra League president GM Hira Bachchu clashed with sticks and machetes.
Police dispersed the feuding groups by charging baton on them.
