17 sued in Bogra

A case was filed with Bogra Sadar police station against 17 people on Tuesday night on charge of killing Khairul Anam Rekkat.
Father of the deceased, Abdul Kaium Ofa, filed the case identifying 11 of the accused.
The main accused is executive member of district Swechchhasebok League Arifur Rahman. Besides, the case includes step-brother and father-in-law of the victim, Swechchhasebok League leader Suter Shadhin and Arif's father-in-law Abu Taleb.
Police have already arrested Suter Shadin and Abu Taleb in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, the superintendent of police (SP) in Bogra has appointed Mizanur Rahman, officer-in charge (OC) of Detective Branch as the investigation officer (IO) in the case.
Earlier, Rekkat, 35, joint convenor of Swechchhasebok League town unit, was shot at his business office at Abdullar intersection in Rahman Nagor area of the town at 11.45am on Monday last.
Locals rescued him and took to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) where he died at the operation room at 2pm.
