Man arrested with gold

An alleged gold smuggler was arrested along with 60 tolas of gold in Laskarpara area in the district town yesterday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Nasir Uddin Karigor, 35, son of Abdul Karigor, hailing from bordering Bhadoli village in Sadar upazila.
Inspector Amanullah of the Detective Branch of police said, tipped off, they raided the area at dawn and arrested Nasir.
Later, gold worth about Tk 32 lakh was recovered from him while it was being smuggled to India.
