Maasranga Television retained the title of the Walton-DRU Media Cricket tournament with a 44-run win over Shokaler Khabor in the final at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday.
After putting on a massive 121 runs for two in the stipulated six overs, Maasranga restricted their opponents to 77 for 4 to win the six-a-side media cricket title for the second time in a row.
Jubair of Maasranga was named the man of the final while Alamgir of Shokaler Khabor was adjudged the man of the tournament. Earlier, Maasranga beat Ittefaq by 55 runs while Shokaler Khabor defeated Baishakhi TV by 4 wickets to advance to the final.
Talent Hunt
FIFA coaching staff including former technical director Jean Michel is expected to arrive here on December 6 to conduct the final players' selection for the Bangladesh Football Federation Academy in Sylhet.
Michel along with FIFA development officer Vincent Subramanian will visit the BFF Academy the next day after his arrival and will conduct the final selection of U-14 and U-18 players from December 8 to 10 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Some 60 budding booters will be picked from nearly 150 players.
