CPB rejects EC invite

Communist Party of Bangladesh yesterday rejected the invitation of the Election Commission for dialogues saying that it was asked to show up at the same time as Jamaat-e-Islami.
The party in a statement termed such an invitation regrettable.
Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh in a separate statement expressed its resentment over the invitation of the commission.
Terming the invitation merely a formality, General Secretary Saiful Haque of RWPB said holding dialogues with 38 political parties in four days was neither logical nor acceptable.
Within the last 10 months, the Election Commission failed to gain credibility, claimed Saiful.
