Minister opens Sonahaat land port

Sonahaat land port will strengthen the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and India, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said yesterday.
The minister spoke at the opening of the country's 18th land port at Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram.
The port will play an effective role in trade with the "seven sisters" of India: states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, said Abdul Aziz Mia, chairman of Bango-Sonahaat union.
