Belarus PM in Dhaka
Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich arrived in Dhaka yesterday on a three-day official visit to sign a number of deals on agricultural and industrial cooperation, and expansion of trade and export.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received Myasnikovich at the VVIP Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:40 pm.
A red carpet was rolled out when the Belarus premier landed from a special flight. He was accorded a static guard of honour at the airport. A tiny tot presented a bouquet to Myasnikovich.
Hasina introduced her cabinet colleagues, cabinet secretary, principal secretary, press secretary, and the chiefs of three services and other high civil and military officials to the Belarus premier.
This is the first official visit of a Belarus premier since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1991, reports UNB.
After the airport ceremony, Myasnikovich and his entourage drove in a motorcade to Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, where he will be staying during the visit.
In the evening, the Belarus premier placed wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar to pay homage to the heroes of Liberation War.
Later in the day, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni met Myasnikovich at a local hotel in the capital, reports BSS.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Dipu Moni said both the countries would sign a dozen of agreements and memoranda of understanding during the Belarus premier's visit.
