Six months over, police yet to give charge sheet

Six months over, police are yet to submit charge sheet in the case filed for brutal killing of schoolboy Naimul Islam Naim at Rostom Chapor village in Kahaloo upazila.
The submission of charge sheet is being delayed as the law enforcers are waiting for the DNA report, said assistant superintendent of police Ashraful Islam.
Police arrested seven people in the case and of the arrestees, brick kiln owner Abdul Mannan was freed on bail.
Main accused Zakaria, son of Mannan, and Dalim and Zaman are on the run, said Anwar Hossain, investigation officer (IO) of the case.
On April 5, 2012, a gang picked up Naim, 13, son of Rafiqul Islam of the village and class seven student of Kahaloo High School on his way to coaching centre and later demanded Tk five lakh as ransom from the parents.
The kidnappers took the ransom but killed Naim and burnt the body of Naim to ashes by throwing it into the stove of a brick kiln in the upazila, said family members.
Naim's father filed a case against 10 people with Kahaloo police station on April 10.
Superintendent of police Mozammel Haque said “The investigation is in progress and we hope to submit the charge sheet within this month”.
