The president of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmodi Club Manzur Kader was made chairman of the 14-member District Football League Committee of the Bangladesh Football Association yesterday.
It is the first time that such a committee has been formed in a bid to monitor the district leagues as well as the activities of the District Football Association (DFA) as the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salahuddin promised to pay extra attention to district football after being re-elected for another four-year stint.
Meanwhile, the organisers of the DFAs also formed a 41-member committee yesterday naming Chittagong DFA president AJM Nasiruddin its president and Jamalpur DFA president Abdullah Al Fuad Redwan as secretary general.

Women's Handball
Menzis KC registered a 38-10 win over Bharatitya Samaj Kalyan Sangha in the Cute Premier Division Football League at the Shaheed (captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium yesterday.
In the day's other matches, Narinda Prograti Club thrashed Surjodoy KC 40-19 while Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club defeated Old Ideals 24-15.

Div-II Hockey
The Super Four lineup of the Green Delta Insurance Second Division Hockey League was completed when Dilkusha Club became the fourth team to move into the Super Four with a 7-0 win over East End Club from Group A at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday.
PWD from Group A, Shantinagar SC and Tejgaon Agragami from Group B ensured their Super Four berths. In the day's other match, Dhaka Hockey Club ended their campaign with a 3-2 win over Rayerbazar SC.

Table Tennis
Mahbubullah clinched the men's singles title of the Baizid Steel Federation Cup Open Table Tennis Tournament with a 4-1 win over Manosh in the final at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium yesterday.
Mahbubullah of Sheikh Russel recovered from being one game down to post an easy four-game win over his teammate Manosh. He lost to Manosh 3-11 in the first game but won the next four games 11-2, 11-8, 11-7 and 11-7 points.
Earlier, Mahbubullah beat Tuhin of Armanitola 4-3 to set a final clash with Manosh who beat Parag of Ciciron 4-2 in the semifinals.
Mahbubullah pairing with Manosh also beat Ciciron 3-1 in the final of the men's team event.
Information minister Hasanul Haque Innu distributed prizes among the winners as chief guest.

JPC TT
Syed M Mamun of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) retained the singles title defeating Kazi Rawnak Hossain in straight sets in the JPC Table Tennis final held at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) yesterday.
This tournament was part of the celebration of the 56th founding anniversary of Jatiya Press Club (JPC).
Mamun outplayed Rawnak in the final by 11-7 and 11-3. Faisal Mukkamal finished third in the meet.
