Man killed by nephew over land dispute
A man was hacked to death by his nephew over land dispute at Chalkbaharam village in Sadar upazila early morning yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Lutfor Rahman Luthu, a retired schoolteacher of the village.
Police and locals said, there had been a longstanding dispute between Lutfor and his brother Golam Muhammad over a piece of land.
As a sequel to the dispute, Golam Mohammad's son Bogdad Ali along with his men attacked and stabbed Lutfor indiscriminately at about 5am leaving him dead on the spot.
Lutfor's son Matiur Rahman was also assaulted by the attackers grievously when he tried to resist them.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Seriously injured Matiur was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Police arrested four people including Golam Muhammad in this connection.
