Abahani finish third

Abahani finished third in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League with a 3-1 win over Sonali Bank in their last match of the Super League at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday.
Following a 1-1 draw against Usha on the previous day, Abahani took only five minutes to take the lead against a side they beat 8-3 in the first leg.
Hasan Jubair Niloy, Pakistani Kashim Ali and Puskhor Khisha Mimo scored for the Sky Blues while Mohammad Rubel reduced the margin for Sonali Bank, who finished fourth in the 11-team table with 21 points from 14 matches.
The win took Abahani's tally to 32 points, five and two points behind title contenders Mohammedan and Usha KC respectively.
Mohammedan and Usha KC meanwhile will face off today in the last match of the Super League to decide the title. However, if Usha beat Mohammedan, a play-off will take place to decide the champions as both sides will have equal points.
On the other hand, Mohamedan, who haven't yet tasted defeat in the league and drew just one match against Abahani, need only a draw to retain the title.
