Road crashes kill 9
Nine people were killed and thirty-six others injured in road accidents in Sylhet, Natore, Chittagong, Narayanganj and Madaripur on Wednesday and yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Sylhet says, three unidentified people were killed and three others injured as a bus hit an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Tetli in Dakshin Surma yesterday.
In Natore, two people died and five others were injured as a bus hit a human huller on Natore-Rajshahi highway at Ekdala in the sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased are Mahabul, 23, the human huller driver, and Shyamoli, 26.
Meanwhile, an unidentified man died instantly as a tractor hit him at Balidiyar in Lalpur upazila on Wednesday.
In Chittagong, Shafique, 14, died and three others were injured as a microbus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Jolla Dighir Par area of Patiya upazila yesterday.
Meanwhile, a factory staff bus collided with a truck at Rahatter Pul in Bakalia of the city yesterday, injuring 24 workers.
They were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
In Narayanganj, schoolboy Tanjil, 10, died and his mother Saleha Begum, 34, was injured as a bus ran over them while crossing Dhaka-Narayanganj link road in Shibu Market area of Fatulla upazila yesterday.
Agitating locals torched the bus.
In Madaripur, Zannatul, 3, daughter of Enayet Fakir, died as a Nosimon crushed her on Tekerhat-Kobirajpur road at Kashinagar in Rajoir upazila yesterday.
