Keep Sylhet environment friendly
Speakers at a view exchange meeting yesterday demanded an effective strategy to keep Sylhet city environmentally friendly to protect habitats there.
The meeting styled “Agenda for preserving overall environment and tradition” was organised by Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (Bapa) at a city hotel.
Former adviser to the caretaker government Sultana Kamal said young people should shoulder the responsibility to save the country for a better life for the people here.
“We may not be able to save all the hills or ponds but we should raise our voice to stop illegal hill cutting and saving ponds mainly for environmental reasons,” said Sultana Kamal.
Prof Nazia Chowdhury of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, among others, was present.
