Clash kills 4 in Mymensingh

At least four people, including a father and a son, were killed and three others injured yesterday over a trivial matter at Dhubaura upazila in Mymensingh.
The deceased were Mofazzol Hossain, 25, Komol, 27, his father Lal Miah, 45, and Hossain Ali, 52, of Kalika village.
Komol and his men beat up Mofazzol Hossain indiscriminately with sticks on Monday evening, as they claimed that Mofazzol's ducks were damaging Komol's paddy field, said police.
Mofazzol was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) where he died early yesterday.
Omar Faruk, officer-in-charge of Dhubaura Police Station, said after getting the news of Mofazzol's death, his relatives had attacked Komol and his relatives with sharp weapons around 6:00am, leaving Komol, his father Lal Miah, Hossain Ali, Kashem Ali and two others injured.
The injured six were rushed to Dhubaura Upazila Health Complex. Komol and his father died in the hospital.
Hossain later was shifted to MMCH where he died in the afternoon.
The other three were undergoing treatment at the upazila health complex.
Police sent the bodies to MMCH morgue for autopsies.
Both the families of Mofazzol and Komol filed two cases with Dhubaura Police Station.
