Rights of citizens

A cultural function to inform the masses about their rights was held at the premises of Saptibari Union Parishad at Aditmari Upazila in Lalmonirhat on Wednesday. The occasion was the Union Parishad (UP) open budget announcement. Artistes from within and outside the district took part in the cultural function which included song renditions and a play. Setu project of Care Bangladesh arranged the programme.
Through their performance, the artistes revealed the rights of citizens to the residents of Saptibari Union, who came in large numbers for the event. The floor was thrown open for them to pose queries about their rights to the UP chairman. The Aditmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO Rezaul Alom Sarker, Care Bangladesh Setu Project officer Ashraful Alom and Saptibari UP ex-chairman Ananto Kumar Roy spoke at the function.
