DU finance dept alumni honour Latifur Rahman

Dhaka University Finance Alumni Association (FAA) yesterday honoured Transcom Group Chairman Latifur Rahman for his winning prestigious Oslo Business for Peace Award for ethical business practices.
Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique handed over a crest to the businessman at the 39th founding anniversary celebration programme of the department at TSC. Finance department and FAA organised the event.
Mahbubur Rahman, president of International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh (ICCB), was also honoured at the programme for his contribution in the field of business.
Addressing the event, Latifur Rahman said morality and social responsibility should be given priority in business. Money is essential in our life but it is not everything, he said.
A programme titled "Adapt a student" was also launched by the alumni.
Finance department Chairperson Prof AA Mahboob Uddin Chowdhury presided over the programme, while ICCB President Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of business studies faculty Prof Jamal Uddin Ahmed, and FFA President Prof MA Baqui Khalily spoke on the occasion, among others.
Latifur Rahman was given the Business for Peace Award on May 7.
