Four killed, 20 injured in B'baria road accident
Four people were killed and at least 20 others injured as a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from the opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Birpasha village in Bijoynagar upazila at about 1:00pm yesterday.
Two of the deceased were Abdul Khaleque, 25, the auto-rickshaw driver, and Shah Alam, 38. The identities of the two other men, aged around 32, could not be known immediately.
Police and witnesses said a Dhaka-bound bus, Shyamoly Paribahan, from Sylhet crushed a Madhabpur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying six people while it was passing Birpasha bus stand, leaving the four people dead and 20 others injured.
The injured were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
Following the accident, the highway was blocked for over 15 minutes.
