Five die in road crashes in 5 dists
Five people, including a headmaster, were killed in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Chapainawabganj, Brahmanbaria, Kurigram and Nilphamari on Thursday and yesterday.
Our Chittagong correspondent reports: Enayet, 40, was killed as a microbus hit him while he was crossing road in Mailer Matha area under Bandar Police Station yesterday morning.
In Chapainawabganj, Indian trucker Laxman Singh, 44, son of LA Singh of Patna in Bihar, died after falling from the rooftop of a truck at Sonamasjid land port of Shibganj upazila yesterday.
In Brahmanbaria, a private car knocked Uzzal Mia, 35, on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Bahadurpur village under Ashuganj upazila on Thursday, leaving him dead.
In Kurigram, cyclist Ranobir Chandra, 35, was killed as a bus rammed his cycle on Kurigram-Rangpur highway in Chhinay area of Rajarhat upazila yesterday.
BSS from Nilphamari adds: Headmaster of Panga Mahesh Chandra Lala High School was killed as he fell down from his motorbike near his house on Shaheed Zia Road while he was returning home from Panga Peer Shaheb Market yesterday noon.
The victim was Ayub Ali, 57.
