Indian High Commissioner Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty yesterday requested for simplifying visa procedure for paving the way for visit of eminent Indian personalities to Bangladesh.
He made the request during a meeting with Cultural Affairs Adviser Rasheda K Chowdhury at her office, according to a government handout.
The envoy claimed that there is no problem of getting Indian visa by any Bangladeshi for visiting India. “Anyone could visit India as tourist.”
The envoy also met Special Assistant to Chief Adviser in charge of CHT and Environment and Forest Ministry Raja Debasish Roy at the latter's office.
The meeting stressed the need for goodwill visit and exchanges in various fields, including tribal judicial system, between district councils of northeastern region of India and district councils of CHT region.
