Strike observed for gas supply

Jaintapur Janodabi Parishad yesterday observed a half-day hartal at Jaintapur upazila demanding gas supply in greater Jainta area.
During strike, speakers at a rally at the upazila headquarters said the inhabitants of the area are yet to get the gas supply benefit although the country's first gas reserve was found at Haripur of Jaintapur and a gas well was dug in 1955.
Convener of the parishad Nasir Uddin chaired the rally.
