Ultimatum to appoint Cuet VC

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology Teachers' Association (Cuetta) yesterday urged the government to appoint a competent teacher as the vice chancellor immediately.
The post has been vacant since the term of former VC Prof Dr Shyamal Kanti Biswas expired on January 28.
The teachers put the demand at a press conference at the university and warned that if the VC was not appointed by March 12, Cuetta would declare further programme on March 13.
Meanwhile, the Cuet students yesterday boycotted classes for the third consecutive day with the same demand. The teachers, however, urged them to join classes.
